The greatest thing about becoming a member is the variety of opportunities to meet an outstanding group of international scholars with mutual interest in the teaching, research, and practice of international accounting.
We are pleased to announce that the 2010 Midyear Meeting of the International Accounting Section (IAS) will be held in Palm Springs, CA at the Hilton Palm Springs, 400 East Tahquitz Canyon Way, Palm Springs, California 92262; Phone: 1-760-320-6868 or 1-800-HILTONS.
The conference will begin Thursday afternoon, January 28, at 4:00 pm with an IFRS CPE workshop featuring Mary Barth and Katherine Schipper. The conference will continue with plenary sessions, panels, concurrent sessions, dialog sessions, poster sessions and other events through Saturday afternoon. There will be an early bird reception Thursday evening, a reception will be held on Friday night, and a closing reception will be held on Saturday evening.
The 4th Annual Doctoral/New Faculty Consortium will be held on Thursday, January 28.
Papers, cases, or panel discussions on any area of international accounting are welcome.
A special effort will be made to provide opportunities for doctoral students and assistant professors. As a result, the Section strongly encourages submissions that have been authored (or co-authored) and will be presented by assistant professors or doctoral students. To indicate that a submission meets this criterion, please include an asterisk (*) at the beginning of the title of the paper.
Authors may request a "fast-track" review for publication in one of the following journals:

The Fast Track review is a quick but incomplete review of a paper by the editorial staff as to a paper's suitability and potential for publication. All JIAR submissions must go through the full editorial review process. To request fast track review, please check the appropriate box on your submission form.
The deadline for submission for all papers, cases, and panels is Tuesday, October 13, 2009. All submissions must be in English. Author(s) will be notified of conference acceptance/rejection by November 16, 2009. Authors of accepted papers agree they will attend and register for the meeting which requires paying the appropriate meeting registration fee.
All submissions must be submitted via e-mail in Word format and must include the following:
Papers should not be sent by fax or regular mail.
A blind review process will be used in selecting research papers to be presented at concurrent sessions during the conference.
